We were founded by a group of young professionals who wanted to work hard to ensure that Democratic principles are on promoted throughout the community of the City of Alexandria, Virginia. Initially coming together to help elect Democrats during each election cycle, our community of like minded individuals decided to stay together and form the Alexandria Young Democrats.
The mission of the Alexandria Young Democrats is to encourage young people to participate in civic life, to support the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party, and to cultivate a community routed in commitment to civic virtues. We work diligently to elect Democrats to office at the local, state, and federal level. We also participate in community volunteer events, perform acts of philanthropy for city groups, and provide a healthy social environment for our members throughout the year. We are dedicated to create a strong community centered around our shared principles and to work together to empower the leader’s of tomorrow today.
